Episode 15 – Artist Sue Gardener

Sue is an oil painter living and working in the heart of the National Forest in Leicestershire, UK
Having worked with animals for most of her life, she made the switch from hobbyist to full-time artist during the pandemic, producing large scale animal themed oil paintings and selling them from her website.

.
A passionate vegan and lifelong advocate for animals, Sue seeks to spotlight the individuality and charisma of each animal she paints. ” Animals are sentient beings. each with their own feelings, friendships, likes and dislikes, just like us, and I want to show that.”

.
Sue lives with a rare autoimmune condition and as a result, is now partially sighted. She has adapted by developing an expressionist technique, on bigger canvases. This has all helped to mould a colourful distinctive style which is popular with her collectors internationally.
